Happy Easter and Happy Packing...

Henry works on trying to help Mommy pack up for the big move. Apparently, she's not the only one up to her eyeballs in boxes...

There we go. Now what am I supposed to put in this box, Mommy? Couldn't I just stick it in my mouth?
No one told Henry it is easier to find the Easter Eggs if you are, in fact, awake.

Finally awake at the Carroll's annual Easter Egg Hunt. Henry found and licked about seven eggs. He was upset when we told him he was supposed to put them in the bucket.

But he really loved the ladybug button on Gabbi Price's crock.

After the Easter Egg Hunt, the Carrolls took everyone out for pizza and Henry had his first taste. He loved it!

Sunday night we went out to the Puseys for Easter dinner and Henry and Isabel took some time out for a little one on one cousin wrestle mania. Considering at one point Isabel stood on Henry's crotch, I think she won this round. We have it on video. I'm sure that this will be one of the last matches she wins as it is only a matter of time that Henry will be able to walk and stand on her. But she has mastered the Half-Nelson hold...

Henry's preferred way to spend time. Just chillin' in front of the boob tube with they guys. From left--Jonathan (5), Anderson (15), Caleb (almost 13), and Henry (11 months).

5 Ways You Know You Need More Sleep

1. You stand in front of your house and wonder why the front door won't unlock when you are pressing the "Unlock" button on your car's remote.

2. Whether you bathe or not is directly correlated to how many people you will see in public and even then is optional.

3. Instead of taking a swig of your early morning Diet Dr. Pepper, you accidentally drink Bud Light at 7am.

4. A can of Pinto Beans suddenly becomes an acceptable dinner.

5. You give up on trying to get your son to keep his pants on.

Happy Birthday, William!

HOW 'BOUT THEM HEELS?!

Today is my nephew William's 12th birthday. William rocks. He is such the entrepreneur, athlete, and gentleman. His only flaw is that he lives to far away from us, but that really is my brother Bill's fault, so I suppose William is like Mary Poppins, practically perfect in every way.

We have been busy packing and Henry has been quite the entertainment. He has even begun to rip things down off of the wall, I suppose he thinks he is helping. In addition to being able to take off his pants, he also is now able to remove his shirt. Almost. He has taken to wearing it as a necklace as he can't seem to get it off of his head. This is not a staged photo. We went into his nursery to check on him before we went to bed and this is how we found him.

Henry says, "Happy Easter!" (Check out his top teeth!)

Mommy has fun with hair product at Henry's expense.

Finally figured out who Henry looks like...

Sometimes he has my smile. He definitely has my hair. He has Sloan's ears, hands, and feet. But mostly he looks like his Uncle Marshall---

Grandma Violet Whittaker and Marshall Phillips, 1971. I'm guessing Marshall is about Henry's age--10 months or so.

(Don't you just love finding things when you are packing up?)

We love Spring!

I'm coming for you, Mommy!
Such a handsome boy!
Mommy says they'll be even more trees for me to climb at my new house! I can't wait!!
Shhh--Don't tell Daddy I'm a tree-hugger.

Okay, Mommy. I got myself up here--but I have no idea how to get down. Will you put down the camera and help me out?

I just love nature. I wonder if Mommy would mind if I threw this. At her.

But even better than rocks is this tasty bark. Yummy.

Fun with Cousins and new tricks

Henry had lots of fun playing with his cousins this weekend. Rachel, 10, babysat on Friday night so Sloan and I could go on a date and then on Saturday he went out to my sister's house all morning so we could do house stuff. Sunday afternoon, Isabel (16 months), came over to play for the evening so my sister could take the rest of the bunch to see Fiddler on the Roof. Henry had a blast playing with play food at Sonya's and showing Isabel his corral at his house. He has also enjoyed showing her how he can now pull up and stand and stand on his own. He thinks he is hot stuff cruising around the edge of his corrall, while Isabel looked at him as if to say, "Yeah, so what? I've been walking for months. I can even go up and down steps on my own. Sometimes I don't even fall down."

They also had a blast in the tub together. At one point, Isabel was splashing and giggling at Henry so, not to be out done, Henry layed back and kicked up a storm. During his splash fest--he tinkled and Isabel proceeded to swat at his stream. And to make it even better--we got it on video! I just can't wait to show it at her rehearsal dinner...

No Hope for Henry...

Conversation recently overheard at the Phillips House:

EJ: You need to eat more vegetables.
Sloan: Is cheese a vegetable?
EJ: No. It's dairy.
Sloan: But it's good for you. Right? So that should count as a vegetable.
EJ: Yeah, no.
Sloan: What about sprinkles?
EJ: Sprinkles are not a vegetable.
Sloan: What if they are different colored sprinkles?
EJ: Still not a vegetable. Neither is cake icing. Even if it's green.
Sloan: Oh.

Swings and Sleeping Standing Up

For starters, we are under contract for the AWESOMEST house in the world and have a March 27 closing date pending the inspection goes well. The house rocks and I love it. It is in the Smoketree neighborhood, near Chesterfield Town Center. It is 2700 square feet on .4 acres. 5 bedrooms, 2.5 baths. I am soo excited about sitting on my swing on the front porch, watching Henry ride his bike in the circular drive and getting a puppy to hang out in the fenced in backyard or the huge Florida room. I'm already starting to pack and drive Sloan crazy with decorating ideas.

And it is pretty obvious that your mind is elsewhere when suddenly, while sitting at the computer, you notice your house is strangely quiet. That there are no more giggles or squeals coming from the exersaucer where you last left your child. That's right--Henry fell asleep in his exsersaucer standing up. I'm such an awesome mom.
